Sometimes I say there is a spiritual undertone to my activism. Other times I think there is an activist tone to my spirituality. Ha!
Actually, in these times, for me, spirituality = activism and activism = spirituality. These are hard words both for some in spirituality and some in activism, I know.
Spiritual people are suspicious of the materialism of activism. Activists are suspicious of the detachment of spiritual people. Still, I believe tremendous human strength would come from their marriage. This is a major orientation of my work as I discuss here.
As you may know, I have a sort of ecclisiastic/Zen orientation. But I am so honored to share these view with my “dharma brother” who comes from a Christian orientation, Adam Bucko. I am so pleased that he got this great review (click on the image to enlarge) for his new book The New Monasticism.
