This coming Saturday, September 6, New York City’s Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) is having its annual fund-raising bash, and I have the honor of giving a talk (I’ll be brief, promise).
This excellent party with a local-food dinner, music and activities for kids and adults will be at the East River Park amphitheater (directions here) from 5PM to 8PM.
LESEC, by the way, is where I got my worm bin and executive director Christine Datz-Romero patiently saw me through my various worm crises while I learned the secrets of “vermi-composting.”
LESEC provides composting services all over New York City, offers education on all sorts of environmental issues, collects electronics for recycling, helps the city develop forward-looking waste management and waste prevention strategies, and on and on.
Most importantly, LESEC is all about teaching us personal and societal ways not to waste the planetary resources we depend upon for our health, happiness, and security.
Look for more details and buy tickets here. I hope to see you there!
