One of the things I’m into is cool tools that allow people to easily take environmental action. What if you wanted to recruit volunteers get trees planted in your neighborhood? Or if you wanted to clean the trash off your local riverbank? What if, on the other hand, you wanted to join other volunteers to do something like that but none of the local environmental non-profits took volunteers?
Well, there’s this wicked cool new model that allows anyone to post an environmental project and anyone to volunteer to help or to donate money. Basically, it makes saving our planet an open-source affair. Anyone can help. Anyone can ask for help. We don’t have to wait for government. We don’t even have to wait for established non-profits. All we have to wait for is–well–us.
Talk about being the change you want to see. Check it out: IOBY.org
PS Sorry but so far it’s only rolled out in New York. Wish it would roll out further? Then, help out IOBY with cash here.
